Im re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, best fantasy author of all time. Jordan can suck one, the Wheel of Time was a heap of shit.

What do you mean was, he's still writing those damn things. Book 11 or 12 just came out recently. If you can't finish your story in less than 10,000 pages, I'm not interested.

A Song of Fire and Ice is going to be longer and so far Martins books are larger. Hes only on book five with a total of about 4,500 pages. And the plot is was more interesting and detailed. I dont know if your siding with Jordan but Eye of the World was the only good book in that series.

I'm not siding with Jordon on anything. I gave 20 pages of the 1st book a spin and it didn't click. I decided it would be easier to label him a hack like everyone else has and to go read something that wouldnt take a decade.

The first book was the generic "grab a sword and join the adventure" It was entertaining enough but lacking. Do you read any fantasy novels?

Ugh, I usually am not much of a fan of fantasy novels. But I love scifi.
Best fantasy = DUNE. Hands down.

An excellent book I'm just about to finish is The Murderer Next Door: Why the Mind is Designed to Kill by David M. Buss. It's fantastic.

Yeah, I think that's probably why I like it... I mean, I always thought of it as, like, the perfect fantasy-scifi hybrid. I guess it is more scifi. am bad at describing things.

Nope, it's a psychology book on why killing is a primative instinct, and what drives humans to kill.
